Durrants Village is a retirement village set in 30 acres of parkland near the hamlet of Faygate. Featuring 174 luxury cottages centred around a prestigious residents’ clubhouse, the community incorporates an indoor pool and gym, landscaped gardens, bar, restaurant, and library. As part of the development, we were asked to build a lake house and accompanying features for the residents.
The lake house is a bespoke timber structure that we built from scratch at our workshops in Norfolk. It incorporates a cedar shingle roof and grooved decking, offering residents the opportunity to enjoy the lake through good and bad weather. We incorporated a lockable storage area into the design and nearby installed round table seating, offering the opportunity to enjoy good weather days in good company. When the nearby growing boxes have been planted and are in full bloom, it will provide a serene place of relaxation for all.
In addition to the lake house, we built feature timber seating, carved from lengths of tree, floating homes for birdlife, and lined grow boxes.
Completely bespoke, this project was built exactly to the needs of our client, blending seamlessly with the natural environment for the enjoyment of the residents of Durrants Village.
